Comments: We are a group of home schooling parents and children who get together once a week to talk and play (mostly the parents talk and the children play). Our group's educational philosophy is diverse -- from the unschoolers with no structure to the traditionally structured homeschool. We have no affiliation with any curriculum, religion or anything else. Our group was started simply to have a place for our home school families to meet and let our children play. As we watch our children, we talk about our homeschooling styles, problems we have faced, what our children study, and everything else. We are a very relaxed group of people. We welcome new comers of all ages. Join us at one of our meetings. We meet once a week in St. Tammany Parish - our members are from Mandeville, Slidell, Pearl River, Lacombe, Folsom, Abita Springs, Covington, Madisonville and anywhere else from where you are willing to drive. The park is wonderful! And the kids love playing there. E-mail me for more information about the time, date andplace (we change meeting places when the park gets too hot). Comments: New Orleans Homeschool Adventurers is an inclusive group open to all learning styles, races, religions, and ethnicities. Children of all abilities are welcome. This group will focus on both the social and educational needs of our children; therefore, we ask that at least the oldest participating child be 7 years old or older, and the majority of siblings that will be attending should be school aged. Currently, our group is working on organizing weekly field trips/play groups. In the future, we are anticipating creating a co-op or art class.
