Louisiana Home Education Network
rule gif

Louisiana Home Education Network (LAHEN) is a statewide homeschooling network consisting of families covering a diverse spectrum of homeschooling styles and philosophies. Respecting that parents who choose to educate their children at home come from diverse backgrounds, LAHEN has no official political, philosophical, or religious orientation.

Louisiana Home Education Network exists to help homeschoolers protect the fundamental right of the family to educate its children in the manner it deems appropriate without regulation or interference by federal, state or local agencies.

Louisiana Home Education Network monitors and responds to legislation which may pose a threat to homeschooling, and to this end maintains dialogue with local, state, and national homeschooling organizations.

No two homeschooling families are alike, they define and create their own methods of education, incorporating their own values, belief systems, and talents. Decisions regarding the content, pacing and manner of each child's education belong first and foremost to the family.

Participation is free - Participation in Louisiana Home Education Network is open to all homeschoolers. At this time, LAHEN is not a membership organization. The e-mail address of those who sign up for the mailing list is strictly confidential; signing up does not constitute membership. For individuals and families to participate, agreement with the following statement is the only requirement:

I understand Louisiana Home Education Network has no official political or religious orientation beyond working to assure that parents/guardians are able to choose home education as a legal alternative in a child's education.
